The focus of Housing LIN’s upcoming annual conference is on shaping homes for health, independence and connection. It is free to attend, and takes place in two locations: Newcastle on Tuesday 24 February 2026 and Bristol on Thursday 12 March 2026.
The events will examine how inclusive, care-ready homes and age-friendly neighbourhoods can transform our experience of later life. There will be expert speakers, interactive sessions and opportunities for cross-sector learning. The conference will highlight the evidence, insights and practical approaches needed to:
- Design for our ageing future: developing housing and environments that anticipate changing needs, support independence and promote dignity throughout later life.
- Build our community futures: strengthening collaboration across sectors, ensuring that residents, practitioners, policymakers and communities co-create places where people feel connected and supported.
- Advance our healthy futures: applying research, technology and design solutions that enhance well-being, prevent ill-health and create homes that enable people to thrive.
Our CEO Katy Saunders is speaking at the Newcastle event. She will be sharing the latest developments from the SHAPE Exchange programme – our five-year collaboration with Housing LIN. One of our Trustees, Professor Rose Gilroy, Professor of Ageing, Policy & Planning at Newcastle University, will also be speaking.
