We are delighted to announce that registrations are now open for the upcoming UKARFF Early Career Researcher* (ECR) event.
Join us on Monday, 23 November 2026 at the Health Foundation in Central London for a day focused on the latest developments in ageing-related research and opportunities to connect with fellow early career researchers (ECRs)*.
This event co-organised by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Health Foundation and Vivensa Foundation will bring together ECRs working across the ageing field. The programme will include a funders’ panel discussion, a keynote speaker, research talks and poster presentations, alongside dedicated opportunities for networking and discussion.
The event is free** and the registration deadline is Wednesday, 30 September 2026. Due to the venue’s limited capacity, this event is for early-career researchers (ECRs)* in the ageing field, and priority will be given to those that are funded by UKARFF members and who are willing to present their work, either as a poster or a talk.
We are grateful to the Macular Society for sponsoring this year’s prizes for the best poster and best talk. Each prize will help fund the winner to present their work at a conference relevant to their research.

* By early career researcher, we refer to final year PhD students and postdoctoral researchers with up to ten years’ research experience, taking into account any career breaks, parental leave, and the impacts of COVID-19.
