The expression of interest stage for our new funding call on the topic of implementing evidence-based interventions that prevent, delay or reduce health and/or social care requirements for older adults in underserved communities is now open. Full details of the call, including eligibility criteria and the application timeline, are available in the call guidelines.
The deadline for submitting an expression of interest is Tuesday 1st July 2025.
We are looking to support proposals which seek to implement and evaluate existing, well-evidenced services, programmes or interventions. This includes generating evidence on their financial sustainability, to help secure their longer-term adoption. Proposals must describe how the intervention(s) in question can directly prevent, delay or reduce health and social care requirements for older adults in underserved communities in the UK. This could include, but is not limited to, older people from ethnically diverse groups, the LGBTQIA+ community, lower socioeconomic backgrounds / communities and/or underserved geographic regions (including coastal and rural locations).
We welcome proposals from lead applicants at UK universities, NHS bodies, HSC or other eligible research organisations, with co-applicants and collaborators both from within and beyond academia. Lead applicants from local authorities must demonstrate that there is suitable research infrastructure in place. Given the focus of the call, the proposed team must include appropriate commissioning / adopter partners (i.e. organisations that could support the longer-term adoption of the intervention(s) following the end of the project), and those with relevant health economics expertise (or similar).
