We, along with five other charitable foundations (The Blagrave Trust, The Children’s Society, Cripplegate Foundation, Friends Provident Foundation and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation) have issued a public invitation to investment service providers (ISPs): propose a bold portfolio for an investment of up to £50m that prioritises positive social and environmental impact for future generations.
Proposals are sought as part of the 2026 Endowments Investing Challenge. ISPs of all shapes and sizes are encouraged to submit a proposal – from boutique impact firms to large asset managers committed to a fair and sustainable economy. Shortlisted ISPs will present their proposal to a live audience of values-led investors and young people in March 2026.
The Endowments Investing Challenge places a special focus on long-term impact and intergenerational fairness. A Future Generations Panel, made up of young adults aged 18–25, is participating throughout the process, helping to ensure that investment decisions reflect the needs of tomorrow’s society.
Long-term intentional impact
Our Chief Investment Officer, Andrew Gnaneswaran, says: “Endowed charitable foundations in the UK represent over £50bn in assets. These assets are often invested in opaque ways that at best, may not align with the charity’s mission. And at worst, actively work against it. This initiative seeks to increase the transparency involved in the investment decision-making process. We are issuing a call to action to those responsible for stewarding capital on behalf of foundations – to consider the impact created by their investment portfolios.”
Interested ISPs can download the Request for Investment Proposals here. The deadline is 11:59pm (UK time) on 19 December 2025.
