After the success of our 2024 pilot scheme, which was limited to those Departments / Centres that hold our Multiple PhD Studentship awards from the 2020 and 2022 rounds, we are delighted to be opening up the opportunity to all UK universities and eligible research organisations nationally.
We invite applications from early career postdoctoral researchers who have up to three years’ post-doctoral research experience and have demonstrated excellence and a capacity for independent research. Funding has been made available to support at least three awards of up to £350k, and the focus of the proposed research must address one or more of the priority research themes outlined on page 22 of our 2025-30 Strategic Framework.
Please note that only one candidate per Department / Centre / Institute may apply. Applicants should discuss their plans with the respective Head of Department or relevant authority before starting an application. If multiple candidates from a given Department / Centre / Institute wish to apply, it is expected that an inclusive internal selection process will be carried out and the most appropriate candidate put forward to apply.
