RCA (Royal College of Art) welcome PhD applications on Research and design that improves people’s lives.
The Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design is the global leader of inclusive design, with a focus on age, health and (dis)ability. The Ageing, Health & Inclusive Design MPhil/PhD programme focuses on the creative and systematic inquiry of issues relating to ageing, health, and/or inclusive design.
Research areas include (but are not limited to):
- Challenges and opportunities of ageing from a design research perspective
- Health systems and design responses
- Designing as a means of care
- (Dis)ability informing innovation
- Learning from diversity to open new horizons and dialogue
- Emerging technologies: inclusion or exclusion?
- Advancing theories, methods, and practices of inclusive design
PhD: 3-4 years (full time), 6-7 years (part time)
MPhil: 2-3 years (full time), 4-6 years (part time)
